The tournament featured six teams: Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Quetta Gladiators. PSL 2025 continued to showcase high-quality cricket and strong fan engagement across major cities of Pakistan. The competition followed the usual double round-robin and playoff format, where the top four teams qualified for the knockout stage. The season highlighted outstanding individual performances, thrilling matches, and large stadium crowds, further strengthening PSL’s reputation as one of the most exciting T20 leagues in the world.

The history of the Pakistan Super League began in 2016 when the Pakistan Cricket Board launched the league to promote professional T20 cricket in Pakistan and provide opportunities for local and international players. The first edition was held in Dubai and Sharjah due to security concerns in Pakistan. Over time, the league gradually shifted matches back to Pakistan, with games hosted in cities such as Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Multan. Since its inception, PSL has grown significantly in popularity, attracting international stars and becoming an important platform for discovering emerging Pakistani cricket talent.
